This author has been recommended to me, so I figured I would give it a shot. Overall I enjoyed this book. It has a lot of creep factor and follows an interesting plot. The pace is actually pretty good. The one part I was not a huge fan of was when it was written from young Enda's perspective. It sounded a bit too much like a little kid. I know based on her growing up and all, that should be expected but it was a bit difficult to read.Enda was quite the character that makes your skin crawl. She had quite the life. Penny is not your typical heroine, but was thrown into these horrible circumstances just trying to reunite her family. No spoilers but this was definitely interesting.

I loved this book from start to finish. So demented. And yes it does remind you of the wrong turn movie series but better. Love the mystery surrounding the gore. Fantastic story.
I was unable to out this book down. It keeps you in suspense, makes for good reading in bed or on your sofa. I will look for more Any Cross books and recommend them.
I've read a few Amy Cross novels, and they've been entertaining enough to kill some time. But this one's AWFUL. No real story. No point to the villains doing what they do. SPOILER Are they just kidnapping people to feed the pigs? Whyyyyyy? Even for 99 cents this is bad.
This is one of the best horror books I have read. Once I started to read I didn't put it down till I was finished. Just wow what a awesome Read....
I can't imagine this lady's turnout of novels- Always different words twisted to have your interest from beginning to end- Just wish the editing issues and typos would improve- There is always a wrong gender or some other form of mistake- It was definitely not my 1st by the author and won't be my last-
The book has plot holes you could drive a redneck thru. A young girl could not run a farm by herself. Where is the feed for the animals coming from? Where is the gas for the truck coming from? The writer alludes to some mumbo jumbo at the end to try and make this a case of supernatural, but its weak. Why does the father change his ways and suddenly and want to help victims? Where did her brothers go? If you live on a farm you understand where kids come from. The natural order is alpa round you. If this girl has seen pigs pregnant..why doesn't she get that the woman is pregnant? Its just silly. How does a six year old run and slit your throat? They are like 3 foot tall. You would have to be crouching. UGH..I gave this an extra star cause it was a free book.
This had the feel of a great, gritty horror film. The mystery of the story as it unfolds with occasional hints at paranormal and moments of extreme horror are well done. Structurally, we get to see things from a few different perspectives which I think heightens the story. The story is brutal at times and yet I still found myself feeling sympathetic for the antagonist. I would have liked to have seen more to this story, definitely a good sign.
